Starling Ranch Springers is pleased to announce the birth of our tri color litter of AKC English Springer Spaniels from Penny and Knightley, born Tuesday, March 13th, now almost 4 weeks old! Liver and white with tan: 2 males, 1 female. Black and white with tan: 2 males, 2 females. All the pups are gaining weight well, walking, and have their eyes open. They are beginning to play, growl, bark, and even howl :D They are now in the family room so they get lots of handling and attention daily. This week we began introducing softened puppy food, trimmed nails again, and added a paper area to help pups learn to keep their sleeping area clean. Most of them caught on really quick to the food. Personalities are beginning to emerge. It is our favorite part of puppy rearing!

Penny is a liver tri with some ticking, a real beauty, she was the pick of the litter, and we got her specifically to compliment Knightley's temperament and build. Penny is an absolute doll. She sits and watches, waiting to see what you want from her. She loves to 'help' with any activity and has the perfect medium energy level. She is great with my kids, my other dogs, and the cats. She has great stamina and a terrific attention span. Her and Knightley have been almost inseparable since we brought her home as a puppy. They are always curled up together whether out on the patio or in the house by the couch. Knightley is a black tri with minimal ticking (spots). He is like a big teddy bear. He is very easy going, mellow, and an excellent family dog who has sired beautiful puppies with wonderful dispositions.
 
Puppies are born under our close supervision in a whelping box set up next to our bed. They remain there until about 2 weeks of age at which point the box is moved to the family room to encourage extra handling and socialization. By 6 weeks they will have a grass potty area and are started on crate training. We offer a crate at cost to those that wish to continue with the crate training process.
 
Our puppies come with a health guarantee, microchip, and AKC limited registration. Puppies tails are docked to the 1/3 AKC show length, dewclaws have been removed, they will have received multiple dewormings, their first shots, and lots of daily attention geared toward preparing them to be the ultimate family pet. Puppies are raised in our home with children, cats, and other dogs.
